On a road trip in 2021, while staying at Misti and Nathan’s in Oregon, I used their scanner to scan in a bunch of old family pictures they had shown me. These are those pictures cleaned-up and color-corrected.

It changes them a bit to see them with the right colors, instead of old, faded pictures. You feel like you’re right back there.

If you zoom in while looking at the full portraits of my grandparents, Ruby and Hayden, you can see the brush strokes where the black and white photographs were colored by hand. I’m not sure when they’re from, but this probably puts them in the late ’30s to ’40s since that technique died out in the ’50s.

I think the party pictures with Tammy opening the presents is from her baby shower for Nathan in 1980, and I believe it is at our place when we lived in Waldport.
