Our 10-year high school reunion took place at the Irvine Marriott (on Von Karman), on June 14th, 2003. I even found a little breakdown for the night:
Reception: 7:00-8:30 PM
Dinner: 8:30-9:30 PM
Dancing: 9:30-12:00 PM
What I remember about it… the valet parked Justin’s new Porsche right by the front entrance, which made me laugh. A girl that I hadn’t seen in a long time invited me back to her hotel room right when I walked in and saw her, which also made me laugh, and then right after, did the same thing to Justin.
A guy I used to know came up and asked if the twins, Jeff and Greg, was there because he wanted to kick their asses, and told me how he had been taking martial arts classes for years so he could. I then had to remind him that they weren’t even in our class, and even if they were, would never show up to their high school reunion.
I forgot the name of an old friend (I blame it on the booze and seeing a ton of people I hadn’t in ten years). When he saw me blanking he said, “It’s a city in Australia.”
“Melbourne?”
“SYDNEY!”
Sorry, Sydney. That was shitty.
The night was fine. I realized most of the people there I could go another ten years easy without seeing, but it was great to see a few old friends.
